The Waiting, 2012

This was the second still-life I painted when I was studying at the Florence Academy.
I composed myself the objects in this composition and painted life size using the Sight-Size method.
It is a very personal subject matter, I was very inspired at the time by a book I was reading, actually a trilogy, called "The Warlord Chronicles" from Bernhard Cornwell. Placed in Great Britain at the 6th century, the story really captivated me, and this picture would be a corner of a house where some of the characters lived at some point in the story. Just because I saw it that way. But of course there is more about it, but it doesn't matter =]
